The Central ROADM optical network phase 2 deployment has been finished. Network services between Regina and Winnipeg are restored. The whole Central ROADM optical network Calgary-Regina-Winnipeg deployment has been finished. The optical network is in production state.
Service between Regina-Winnipeg continues to be worked on as we work to have fiber issue resolved locally in Winnipeg. The fiber issue and system turn up is expected to be completed before end of week. Please note the updated end date of Friday.
The Central ROADM optical network phase 2 deployment will start on Sunday, May 5th and finish on Saturday May 11. During the phase 2 deployment, the optical network between Regina and Winnipeg will be not available. Network traffic will be rerouted automatically via northern path Winnipeg-Saskatoon-Edmonton.
The deployment plan has been changed into two phases.
Phases 1: The optical network Segment between Calgary and Regina has been finished. The network services between Calgary and Regina have been restored.
Phases 2: The deployment of the segment between Regina and Winnipeg has been scheduled from May 5th to May 11th. During this deployment window, the network traffic between Regina and Winnipeg will re-routed automatically.
From March 4th to March 28th, each day between 09:00 EDT to 17:00 EDT, maintenance work has been scheduled to rebuild the canarie central ROAMD network Calgary-Regina-Winnipeg. During each day's rebuild, the old network equipment will be decommissioned and the new equipment will be installed. Outages will be expected and the entire central ROADM network will not be available during the entire maintenance window. Network traffic between Calgary-Regina-Winnipeg will be re-routed automatically during the outage time.
